Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If a student has already achieved competency with another Recognised Training Organisation (RTO) in a unit offered as part of a Coomera Training College course, or has achieved competency through their work history they may apply for RPL and so be exempt from studying the given unit.
This means you may not have to complete the unit for which you believe you should get RPL and still get your full qualification.
Note: An administration fee of $200 per unit will be charged for RPL applications. The unit fee will be deducted from the total cost of the course if you are successful.
Application for recognition of current skills / prior learning
In order to apply for RPL in a given unit, you must provide proof that you have achieved competency in that unit. You can do that by;
Providing a current statement of results from a previous course where that unit was studied (and competency was gained). Note: where the unit(s) are the same as those covered by Coomera Training College but unit codes are different it is the students responsibility to provide written evidence that the unit(s) sought for RPL exactly match the Coomera Training College unit(s).
Students must apply (where possible) for RPL of a unit at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of study of that unit to avoid having to catch up on studies should the RPL application be unsuccessful.
Once your application has been received we will review the evidence you have provided and advise you of the outcome within two working weeks.
'Application for RPL' forms are available Recognition Application.
Coomera Training College recognises the AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations.
